As a parent do I have to do any training?
Yes, every parent in Troop 314 is required to watch a 40-minute electronic training called Youth Protection Training prior to signing their scout up. You can access this at www.my.scouting.org and email a copy of the certificate to Troop314CharterRepFRCS@gmail.com
What is the cost to Register?
Registrations are pro-rated and collected with the calendar year, not the school year. This assumes scouts will participate in fundraising efforts. NOTE: The troop collects the direct cost (with no fees attached for awards, merit badges etc. There is also a cost /activity that is pay as you go. Examples: ~$20/camping trip to cover the cost of food. The costs below are passed directly to National or Local Councils. The troop only keeps the Troop fee; which covers nominal expenses.

$25 New Member Joining Fee (Never Pro-rated) - this is also paid directly to Mayflower Council.

Do you have Dues
Yes, we have weekly dues ($2/scout/meeting) for Patrol/Troop Meetings held on Fridays. You can pay ahead if you wish. We can not make a changes at meetings. We can accept credit cards or checks.
Can I pay Cash, Check, Credit Card, PaypaL, Venmo?
Yes, we take Cash, Credit Cards, Checks made out to "Troop 314," and we can even send a PayPal invoice or Venmo.
What if we don’t do fundraising?
If you are unable to fund-raise, there is a buy-out option. We ask you to consider participating, as fundraising is part of scouting and actually teaches scouts valuable lessons.
When are the Meetings?
Friday Nights of the month from 6:30 - 7:45pm. We meet from September through June. Please check the private calendar for location.
Do you take the summers off?
No, we don't have regular meetings, but we still go camping and run special events!
Can I bring a Friend?
Any age-appropriate (Troop events 10-18; Crew events 14-20) sibling, friend or family member that you would like to bring with you to a meeting/event will also need to submit their own BSA Health Form A&B.
Do you need to be A FRCS Student to join?
No. Each unit has a different goal and interests. You should join the unit that has common interests for your scout. Our interests lie in S.T.E.M. activities, water sports, and camping.
